Costs Employees $60 Million

Kaleida is seeking more than $60 million in “life altering” concessions from its Unionized Workforce that could cost workers as much as $60,000 each over the next 10 years. WNY Labor Today
In what should come as no surprise to anyone, economic development UB2020/NYSUNY 2020 style comes with obscene administrative salaries, expensive new buildings and draconian cuts to workers salaries.

In 2010, Kaleida’s CEO James R. Kaskie, raked in $2.3 million, (up from $1.2 million in 2008) to head the not for profit health corporation.

Under Kaskie’s leadership, Kaleida entered into a $173 million agreement to build the UB2020 Global Vascular Center which would house Kaleida's cardiac, stroke and vascular operations emergency department.  Under this UB2020 Public Private Partnership Ponzi scheme, Kaleida will then sell part of it to UB for $118 million, leaving a gap of at least $55 million Kaskie has evidently decided to pay for by closing nursing homes, special ed programs, clinics for the poor and cutting workers salaries $60,000,000.

Governor Cuomo’s seems so enamored of UB’s ability to stimulate the local economy with public/private partnerships like this that he is proposing even more of the same with his latest NYSUNY2020 grant program. Watch for more buildings no one can afford paid for by student tuition increases and workers wage cuts, coming soon.
